Condyloma acuminata is medical term for the disease. These are flesh colored and sometimes gray abnormal growths that erupt on the genital and anal areas of both male and female victims. Genital warts are sexually transmitted diseases and can occur at any age. There are several methods of treatment of genital warts since there is no single method in which genital warts are cared for.

Genital warts are caused by a human virus called papillomavirus. Such infections are not obvious since it affects only the genital or anal areas that are normally hidden from view. But the infection does not spare anyone. It can occur on both men and women no mater what age. However, in children, such infection is transmitted through direct contact with a person who has the disease. But the treatment of genital warts in children is also the same as those done in adults.

Though the infection was observed to go away on its own in a certain percentage of the population, medical treatments is still recommended to prevent its spread to other people. One of the most common methods for the treatment of genital warts is called cryotherapy this involves the use of liquid nitrogen which is used to freeze the warts. Cryotheraphy, which literally means cold therapy, is used to destroy tissue through a process of freezing and unfreezing. It is very effective in the treatment of genital warts since it has a very high curing rate and only has a few side effects if any.
